The Open at Muirfield Golf club 2013

The Open. But this is a little different. For my job I had the pleasure of being invited to accompany servicemen from 1 Scots REME 2 Scots and 3 rifles as part of Help for Heroes Official and Wounded in Service Events Ltd to cover their “Grand day out” at the Open Championship. To see these injured men some very young with severe injuries – some very visible some not so much was quite emotive. whilst we are aware they are out fighting for our freedom when you see these lads up close talk to them each and every one a complete gent it really hits home. Nothing was too much trouble for these lads and I felt as I was the one being looked after for the day! To stand alongside them when we entered various sections at the open and to see them receive a standing ovation was very humbling indeed! A wee visit from Prince Andrew too! The R & A looked after us very well no ticket could have enabled you to stand alongside the players inside the practice ground , sneaked a chat to Butch  Hamond , not to name drop.

Well a huge  thanks to Major Tim for putting together  a brilliant day for all these Hero”s i was highly honoured  to be a part of it. Great Day Out at the golf club.
